The Neighborhood

Tucked away on the western side of Mount Desert Island, Seal Cove is a peaceful and secluded village known for its pristine natural beauty, rocky shoreline, and tranquil atmosphere. Unlike the busier towns on the island, Seal Cove offers a retreat into nature, making it an ideal spot for those seeking solitude and outdoor adventure. The area is best known for the Seal Cove Auto Museum, which showcases a remarkable collection of early 20th-century automobiles, offering a glimpse into the golden age of motoring. Beyond the museum, visitors can explore nearby hiking trails, kayaking routes, and quiet coves perfect for wildlife watching. Seal Cove also provides easy access to lesser-traveled areas of Acadia National Park, including Seal Cove Pond and the western mountain trails, which offer breathtaking views without the crowds. Its calm waters, dense forests, and unspoiled coastline make it a haven for photographers, birdwatchers, and nature enthusiasts alike.

Like visiting your grand parents, this place was quaint, quiet and had wall mounted dial up telephones. Great place to unwind, quick access to Jordan pond and ample room to stretch out!

The place is very cozy and has a Victorian house atmosphere inside. We have had some problems with heating during Thanksgiving but Patrick was proactive and helped us to resolve the problem. The TV might use an upgrade but overall a great stay with perfect location for Acadia hikes!

Great place for a girlfriend reunion! Had a scrap booking night at the dining room table and watched 3 Hallmark movies plus the new Regan movie, perfect stay!!!
